A Heavenly Song, I can’t say enough about how this song changed my life. The first time I heard it, I wept. it was originally recorded by the Bee Gees, in 1965, and was actually their first hit song ever. The Three Gibb Brothers, Robin, Maurice, and Barry were all still just teenagers when the song caught on.

The Bee Gees, As Teens, Left To Right: Robin Gibb, Barry Gibb, And of Course Maurice Gibb!
  • Wine and Women and Song will only make me Sad
  • Love and Kisses and Hearts, that they could Never Have
  • If this should end, I don’t Mind, If This should end, I will Find,
  • What shall I do? What shall I do?
  • Cars and Buses and Trams, Make A Lot of Noise
  • All of my Women, have gone off, with other Boys
  • If this should end, I don’t mind, If this should end, I will Find
  • I won’t Complain, I feel no Pain (echoed vocal )
  • If This should End, I don’t mind, If this should End, I will Find
  • I won’t Complain, I feel no Pain (echoed vocal)
  • Wine and Women and Song Will only make me Sad
  • Love and Kisses and Hearts that they could Never Have
  • If this should End, I Don’t Mind, If this should End, I will Find
  • I won’t Complain, I feel no Pain
  • I won’t Complain, (I won’t Complain) Cry

This song has A classic Bee Gees Sound to it. Though most people associate the Bee Gees with a disco sound, I first Became familiar with the Bee Gees , by listening to their original sound, when They first became Famous, in the 60’s, which had a completely different soul to it. Songs like “I Started A Joke” By Robin Gibb, And “I’ve Got to Get A Message To You” are the Heartbreakingly beautiful sound that I Think of immediately, When I think of The Bee Gees Music. This song has a haunting beauty, with Beautiful vocals by The Gibbs, It just reaches my heart and soul in a special way. And the Lyrics, Are so Profound. I was once told that the lyrics were about being too young and unwise to be aware of the pain and hardships of love and life. But my outlook on the song, was of a young person, who was already so sad, so heartbroken, so lived in a short amount of time, that they had yielded to the unhappiness, and misfortunes of life. I felt the song was about someone with such a tragic and hurt outlook of their own, that they had become passively accepting of the Sad and Heartbreaking part of life. It is such a Beautiful Song, In it’s lyrics, with their Deep and Moving Thoughts that lay within the deceptively simple words, With It’s Beautiful harmonies, that Only Robin, Maurice and Barry can achieve, Like Angel’s voices, coming together to Create The most ethereal sound that a soul can ever hear. I love “Wine and Women”, it helps me to stop, and think of life, to think of Happy and Sad things, in my own life, in the world around me It make me Think of things that maybe Robin and his brothers may have been going through, or experienced when they wrote this song. I often wonder how it made them feel when they first sang it. When I first heard it, it changed my life, it brought me joy and tears, it made me feel like maybe, it was alright to be me. And also like maybe, it’s alright to feel hopeless sometimes, and that maybe, if you just keep on living, continue to survive, that hope will come again, somehow, and some way. I hope that there is hope in your day today, maybe, The Bee Gees’ song, Their voices, and Their souls, that they share with us in their lyrics, Will help to give you the same hope that they give me. I send a lot of love to all of you out there. I’ll try to write again soon, Lindsey.
